Charcoal fines for biochar

Charcoal fines for biochar

Our charcoal fines are a by-product of our lumpwood charcoal making, and great for use as biochar. You can dig the dry fines into your soil to provide aeration, or mix with your favourite liquid compost to retain nutrients in the soil. The charcoal adds carbon and doesn't decompose easily, making it a great carrier for nutrients and water. Here's the RHS on using biochar: Customers have also used our fines for ceramics and on the forge.

All our charcoal is made from sustainably managed and locally sourced wood. We process it by hand before it is cooked in Betty, our charcoal retort. By diverting the volatile gases (that come off the wood during firing) back into the fire box, the retort is the most environmentally-friendly way to make charcoal.

Bags are approx 3kg and available to buy in packs of 2.
