Turning

We'll be embracing the art of turning to create different household items over the weekend.

Baskets

Traditional basket making is a favourite craft of ours. Learn the basics tools and techniques in our workshops.

Fibres

Fibres of all kinds play an important role in our lives. We'll be exploring different types across the weekend.

Social

As always, we have a strong focus on food and friendship throuhgout the event. Come and sit with us by the fire.

What your ticket includes

Your ticket includes entry to this small-but-perfectly-formed weekend event, access to a range of workshops with our expert trainers, food for the whole weekend, and camping. We kick off with a Friday-night social and go from there! Food is prepared by our team onsite and we source from local providers wherever possible, meaing you get to eat some of the best Scottish produce available. As well as all that, you can say you've become part of the Great Scottish Hoolie family!

Meet the trainers

Paul Cookson

With qualifications in both gardening and arboriculture to his name, Paul is a skilled woodworker and trainer with twenty years’ hands-on experience across a range of sectors. Never comfortable without a project on hand and a tool with which to shape it, Paul’s practical nature and love of the outdoors continuously drives his workshops in creative new directions. He aims to continue passing on traditional woodland skills to anyone in earshot, inspiring and empowering the next generation of Scottish forestry workers and crafters.
